Started as a creative outlet very different from the day to day activities of her job as President of a packaging firm, Sonja van Erkel Miller developed Samantha Grace Designs and it has blossomed into an exciting up and coming design company. Sonja is a “Nederlander” who let her Dutch roots and European education aspire her heart to create an eclectic line of handbags that can only be completely understood by owning one. She has a passion for perfection. This, coupled with an acute business sense nurtured as president of a successful contract packaging firm for over 15 years, gives her a unique quality needed for detail. Her inspiration has come from being a mother to two “fiery” redheads--one of whom is a consummate “diva.” Sonja’s designs began as flair for her daughter and her daughter’s friends. Women of all ages soon started asking for their own versions, thus Samantha Grace Designs began--and so did the fun. With the use of lively, colorful fabrics and ribbons, a beautiful line of handbags has come to the surface. A related venture, Apronette, has recently been added to the Samantha Grace line of products. Apronette has redefined hostess aprons in a flirty and fashionable way, using both traditional and funky fabrics.
