Arthur McMaster

Arthur McMaster spent 34 years in the Army, serving in both Special Operations and the CIA before retiring in 2002. Having written poetry, essays, plays, and poetry criticism for much of his adult life, he left retirement to pursue an MFA in creative writing. It was during that process that he researched and wrote most of Musical Muse, Wives and Lovers of the Great Composers. Nominated for a Pushcart Prize in 2006, Arthur now teaches at colleges and universities throughout Upstate South Carolina. His chapbook, Awkwardness, was selected for digital publication by the South Carolina Arts Commission, and he co-edited a collection of poetry, Fruit of the Banyan Tree, recently published by Orchard Park Press.
