Ella McBee Cart is a mixed media artist who enjoys working in various mediums and styles. She is comfortable with abstraction and realism, often enjoying the challenge of combining the two. She has won numerous awards for both her mixed media and oils. She has a B.A. in art from Columbia College, Columbia, S.C., and has done graduate work at the University of South Carolina and Converse College. She also taught art in the South Carolina public schools for 10 years.

Ella's involvement in the arts started at an early age. Her father, the late Roy McBee Smith, was her first instructor, introducing her to the exciting world of art.

Ella presently splits her time between the Georgia Coast and the Carolina Mountains, with her husband and two children.
