Nancy tells this story about this design: Cat The cat was introduced to the Cherokee by the European settlers. The Cherokee word for cat is "we sa", an attempt at the English word "pussy." When we sa purrs by the fireside, Cherokee children say it is counting in Cherokee, "ta la du, nun gi, ta la du, nun gi," "sixteen, four, sixteen, four."
Note: Nancy uses recyled materials to create her art cards, so colors vary. If you prefer a specific color scheme, please note your preference in the "Notes" box when placing your order, and we will do our best to accommodate you.
