The Cherokee people associate flamingos with the concepts of journey, migration, and wisdom. Flamingos are a social bird, always nesting in colonies of several thousand pairs but rarely fewer than ten pairs. Like the Cherokees, flamingos move around in search of the most hospitable environment, but always work together.
