Nancy tells this story about this design: Evergreens Long time ago, Grandfather decided to test the durability of the trees. A prize was to be given to those who could endure. Grandfather asked the trees to stay awake all night. Each tree had their own way of staying up. As stories were retold of heroes old and new, some of the trees fell asleep. When daybreak peaked over the horizon, Grandfather returned to see who had kept their vow of sleeplessness. Only a few trees were yet awake. The pine trees were vigilant as well as the magnolia and palmetto. Many others slumbered. Grandfather gave the gift of keeping their hair to those who passed the test. All others who did not endure lose their hair each fall, standing silent until their hair returns in the spring.
Nancy uses recyled materials to create her art cards, so colors vary. If you prefer a specific color scheme, please note your preference in the "Notes" box when placing your order, and we will do our best to accommodate you.
