This painting is about a young soul, taking time to get away from the distractions of the modern world, to understand God's plan for her life. She is a 9 year-old Mayan Indian, kneeling before God, listening and praying for guidance. The fact that she is from another country and culture embodies God’s love and concern for all people. The ethereal sky comes out of the border, representing that God’s love is here for us in this world, but He offers us a world beyond.  I painted this in the middle of Lake Keowee, on our pontoon boat in the dead of winter. It incorporates the beauty of the mountains and sky that divinely inspired me that day.
